Statement by Independent Jewish Voices Canada on the deadly shootings at Bondi Beach, Australia on December 14, 2025

We are devastated by the deadly shooting at Bondi Beach in Sydney. May the memories of the victims be a blessing.

We mourn those who were killed, hold the injured in our hearts, and extend our deepest solidarity to the Jewish community in Australia.

Antisemitism is real, deadly, and must be confronted, without being exploited to justify further violence, repression, or the silencing of others. Safety, dignity, and justice must be universal.

We are deeply grateful to Ahmed al Ahmad, whose courageous actions helped prevent further loss of life.
